Your quiz key
Posted for you in Brightspace. It is also in your Gradescope feedback if you submit this assignment without a recording. This is the only thing you enter — we never ask for your email, so nothing about your identity is sent to the quiz server. Keep the key to yourself.
Your email is scrambled inside this browser before anything is sent. The quiz server only ever receives the scrambled value — never your address.
Get this from Gradescope: submit once to this assignment without a recording and the feedback shows your code. Nothing derived from your email is ever sent.
Oral quiz
Identifying as student ·
- 🔢 Four digits appear first — read them out loud, one at a time.
- ❓ Your question appears a few seconds later. The timer starts then, not before.
- ⏱️ A live countdown shows the time left on each question — usually a couple of minutes. It starts when the question appears, not before.
- 🔢 When you tap I’m done with this question, four more digits appear — read those aloud too. If another question follows, it comes right after.
- 🔁 Don’t like the question or the recording? Retake anytime for a fresh one.
Answer the question only. Please don’t say your name, your student ID, your address, or anything else personal — nothing outside the question is needed, and it would end up in the transcript.
Pick the extension you have already been granted. Your countdown on every
question is multiplied by it.
This is checked against your accommodations in Gradescope when your work is
graded. Choosing less than you are entitled to, or nothing at all, is always
fine and is never held against you — and so is finishing early. The only thing
that gets flagged for your instructor is selecting more time than you have
been granted and then using it.
Don’t have an accommodation set up yet? Leave this alone and speak to your
instructor or your disability resource office — it is arranged there, not here.
How it works & privacy
Where your recording goes. The audio is recorded in this browser and is uploaded only to Gradescope, with the rest of your submission. It is not sent anywhere else, and this page never uploads it to the quiz server — that server only ever receives a fingerprint (hash) of the audio and some timestamps, which is what lets it certify that you answered live without hearing a word of it.
What happens after you upload. Inside Gradescope, the audio is turned into text by software running there. The text of your answer is then sent to Purdue’s GenAI Studio to be graded against the rubric; the audio never is. Your instructor can listen to the audio and read the transcript.
Why we ask you not to say personal details. Anything you say becomes part of that transcript. Keeping the answer to the question keeps everything else out of it. If personal details do slip in, the grader removes what it can recognise before grading and tells your instructor — but the surest fix is not to say them.
Speak clearly. Recording auto-stops when the timer ends.
